50th ANNIVERSARY SUNDAY

Today is our church's 50th anniversary. After the service our church will need some help moving all of the tables and chairs back to their original locations. So if you can stick around this afternoon that would be extremely helpful.

And there will be a schedule change tonight. We are still canceling Fuel because the church will be closed, but we will meet at the church at 6:15 pm for Time Out at the Stowers' house. Bring your swimsuits and we'll get back at 9 pm.

TUBIN' TRIP

We're going tubin' down the Guadalupe. Meet at the church at noon on Wednesday, July 26. We'll head out about noon:30, so be sure you're here so you can join the fun.

Bring a swimsuit, towel(s), a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, and clothes. If you haven't paid the $35 (this covers food), be sure to bring your money. If you don't have $35, call Marc or Cruz.

PLEASE, PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE - PACK LIGHT!!!! We'll only be gone like two and a half days, so you won't need your kitchen sink.

We'll return to the church at about 5:00pm on Friday.

See yall there!

LADY IN THE WATER

This Friday after VBS at 1 pm we're going to see Lady in the Water. Try to meet at the church at about 12:45 pm because we're not sure what time the movie starts yet.

PS
Thanks to everyone who came to The Break yesterday. We had 23 students! That's the largest group I have ever seen in our youth ministry. It was so big we couldn't do the Amazing Race because we didn't have enough drivers. That's a great problem to have!

THIS WEEK AT THE BREAK: 7.19.06

The All-Day Break is from Noon to 5 pm. For those of you who are helping with VBS, just hang out with us all day. For everyone else, meet in the Fellowship Hall at noon. We'll have lunch and we'll hang out until about 1 pm. Then, we'll have games and stuff at the church. At about 2 pm, we'll go to Mr. Sno, so bring about $2. Be sure to try a Love Nest; it's a snow cone with ice cream in the middle. After that, we'll play The Amazing Race all around Waco.

The most important thing about this week's Break, though, is that the new 7th graders are going to come and hang out with us. Be sure to come and get to know our newest Jr. High students. It's going to be a good day for everybody!

THIS WEEK AT FUEL: 7.16.06

For the next two weeks we're going to talk about growth. Tonight at Fuel we're going to discuss what God has done for us, for our ministry, and our church. Get ready to talk because I don't want to take over, I want to hear from you. I also want to give you a word of encouragement tonight. Jesus compared the Kingdom of Heaven to a mustard plant, and just like a mustard plant, I believe that our ministry is ready to spread like wildfire. I believe that each one of our students are ready to make an impact at school, at home, at our church, and anywhere else they might go.

HELP A PASTOR

Thursday at 1 pm, Brother Mike could use some help moving boxes and stuff out of his office. We need some strapping young lads to come and be the muscle for our pastor. This is his last week here, so this would be a great way to show him how much you appreciate him.

BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL

When we had our talk on Matthew 5:7 ("Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.") during our Cost of Discipleship series, for worship we prayed for God to have mercy in certain specific situations.

Some of these included the children of Compassion International. One of the situations for which we prayed for God's mercy and the mercy of others was the Enron scandal, and specifically Ken Lay - the CEO who stole millions from others.

We prayed for mercy from God and the people involved, because we are called to be merciful.

Last week, Ken Lay died. Click HERE for more. Please pray for his family and the familes affected by the Enron scandal. Please pray for mercy once again.

THIS WEEK AT FUEL: 7.09.06 (GOD CAMP)

Come worship with us tonight and join us in celebrating a week of God's voice in our lives.

Pictures from camp will be posted within 48 hours.
