EXPERIENCING LECTIO DIVINA: 6.18.06
This Sunday morning at Sunday School we will continue our series on reading scripture. Last week we went through a very brief and quick overview of The Bible. This week we will begin learning new ways to read scripture.I use the term "new" very loosely. Lectio Divina is an ancient Christian practice that has been around for hundreds of years. Today, when we pick up the Bible we tend to read over it quickly, trying to get our information as quickly as possible. Our fast-paced society has almost ruined our ability to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. Lectio Divina, when done properly, forces us to slow down and savor God's holy word.
