WESTERN HEIGHTS STUDENT MINISTRY

This week at The Leap we begin our new Bible study material. It's a year-long program called Student Life Bible Study. This year the major focus will be on the community of God, and we will teach primarily out of the book of Acts.

This Wednesday will be kind of laid back again. We're not going to break up into our groups just yet. Instead, we're going to have a quick overview of the materials we're using, and we will talk about what The Leap is going to do for us this year. I am excited, and I hope that you are, too. Come this Wednesday so that we can prepare for the year.

There are no events this week, because it's BACK TO SCHOOL time. Use this week to get back into the swing of things. Remember that God is with you, no matter what. God loves you and we do too. If yall need anything this week, let us know.

It's here! This Sunday night at 6:30 pm is the annual ALICO Cup softball game between the youth and the college/parents. Get ready for some intense competition as the youth seek to redeem themselves of 3 losses in a row. The first pitch will be at 7 pm, and the game will be over by 8:30 pm. Afterwards, we will have pizza and drinks along with a home run derby.

At Fuel on Sunday night we will continue with part 2 of 4 in our series on evangelism. Don't miss out on this great night!

This Wednesday is our last Break for the summer. We're going to watch M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable in the youth room from 6 pm to 8 pm. We'll have popcorn and sodas, so come and hang out with us! We'll start The Leap back up again on August 23.

Friday from 10 am - 6:30 pm we're going to Austin's Park n' Pizza. $15 includes bumper boats, laser tag, miniature golf, batting cages, go-carts, rock climbing, and a pizza buffet. You may want to bring extra money for a drink at the pizza buffet and for arcade games if you're so inclined.

P.S.
Hopefully we won't have to go see Stealth this year.

Come to the break tonight and cool off from the heat as we have water wars! Meet at the church at 6 pm; we'll be done by 7:30 pm. Don't forget to wear water-friendly attire (i.e. no white t-shirts).
